Washington National Cathedral's Boy and Girl Choristers to Sing in Concert

On Wednesday, June 13, at 7 pm, the National Cathedral’s boy and girl choristers will combine in a concert performance in St. Paul’s sanctuary, under the direction of Michael McCarthy, together with Cathedral organist Benjamin Straley. The concert will feature music from the wide repertoire used in services and special events at the National Cathedral, including works by Felix Mendelssohn, Gustav Holst, Cesar Franck, Kenneth Leighton, Malcolm Archer, and Benjamin Britten’s Missa Brevis. Thanks to the support of the St. Paul’s Chamber Music Society, this concert is free and open to the public.

“We are excited to host such talented young singers,” says Christopher Betts, Director of Music at St. Paul’s UMC Houston. “It is rare privilege to hear the choristers outside of Washington, D.C., and we are especially thrilled that boys in our region can have the opportunity to spend the day singing side by side with the Cathedral boy choristers.”
