Around the World Through Music & Movement

  • St. Paul's United Methodist Church 5501 Main St Houston, TX 77004 USA (map)

In this playful and imaginative class, children explore music, movement, and yoga inspired by cultures from around the world. Led by a professional opera singer, students will experience live singing, rhythmic movement, storytelling, and age-appropriate yoga poses that encourage creativity, body awareness, and self-expression. Each class blends listening, singing, movement, and imaginative play, introducing children to a wide variety of musical styles from classical and folk traditions to rhythm-based and global sounds. Children will explore how music can tell stories, express emotions, and move their bodies in different ways. The session culminates in a joyful student showcase where the class will select their favorite songs, movements, and moments to share from our musical journey together. No prior music or movement experience is required. All you need is curiosity and a willingness to explore!
