In the garden of Wesley Memorial Methodist Church in Epworth, England, John Wesley stands atop a globe with his famous phrase — “The World is my parish” — encircling between them.

Join the Primetimers for a journey through the places that shaped Methodism — from Epworth and Oxford to Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, and London — as you vicariously experience the early days of the Methodist Movement.

Director of Hospitality and Membership Laura Althaus will place us in those experiences as she shares her own from her Wesley Immersion in England this summer with the Perkins Schol of Theology.

She will trace how the Wesleyan revival grew from a small Anglican renewal movement into a worldwide Methodist family, exploring the lives of John and Charles Wesley, Francis Asbury, Thomas Coke, and the ordinary people who carried the movement forward.

Along the way, we will consider Methodist themes that still matter today: grace, holiness, mission service to the poor, faithful disagreement, and the call to hand on our faith to the next generation.

Gather in Fondren Hall for fellowshiop at 10:30am, the program will be at 11am, and a $10 lunch will be served at noon to those who RSVP to primetimers@stpaulshouston.org by October 6.
