Lunch & Learn: Panel Discussion For Homeless Awareness

This panel discussion is part of St. Paul’s broader October focus on homelessness and Christian witness. It aims to:

  • Educate attendees on root causes and systemic realities of homelessness

  • Share stories from professionals and volunteers actively working with the unhoused

  • Highlight God's presence in mission and advocacy

  • Inspire attendees to take direct action by volunteering

Agenda (Noon–1:15 PM):

  • Panelist introductions

  • Fast-paced responses on causes of homelessness

  • Reflections from panelists on what they've learned

  • Overview of effective services (short- and long-term)

  • Where panelists see God in their work

  • Closing remarks from volunteers involved in EAC and Coming Home (2 minutes each)

  • Volunteer sign-up opportunities at tables in the back of the room

*Sculpture by Timothy Schmalz. Timothy Paul Schmalz is a Canadian sculptor from St. Jacobs, Ontario, Canada. Cast editions of his life-sized sculptures have been installed in major cities in front of some of the most historically significant Christian sites in the world, including Capernaum, the Vatican and Fatima. Schmalz is best known for his Homeless Jesus that he created in reaction to the many homeless living on the streets. Visit his website here.
