The Acolyte Program at St. Paul’s is a meaningful ministry for youth (and young adults) who have completed Confirmation (or joined the church through Profession of Faith) and wish to take an active role in St. Paul's Worship. The term Acolyte comes from the Greek meaning “to follow, serve, or assist.” Acolytes serve as vital participants in the liturgy, assisting the clergy and contributing to the spiritual experience of the entire congregation.
At St. Paul’s, Acolytes are trained to offer their service as an act of devotion to God. Training includes guidance in processions, lighting candles, serving at the altar, and carrying the Light of Christ both into the Church and out into the world.
Acolyte Training will be held on the second Sunday of each month (September 14, October 12, November 9, and December 14) at 9:45 a.m. in the Sanctuary and led by Sharon Mosby and Dawn Uebelhart, and assisted by senior youth acolytes.
All Youth who are interested in deepening their faith through service are warmly encouraged to participate.
