Houston’s aviation history began on February 18, 1910, with a demonstration by “King” Louis Paulhan in a Farman biplane. As the industry grew to accommodate passengers, Houston’s first municipal airport opened in 1940. Now home to the 1940 Air Terminal Museum, the Art Deco building was near collapse when rescued to house this nugget of Houston’s aviation history.
