Salt and Light
Salt and Light is an activity-based group for adults age 60 and older.
Monthly Meetings. The group meets on the second Thursday of each month. Programs range from speakers to musical artists. The Gathering begins in Fondren Hall at 10:30 a.m. with light refreshments and the Program begins at 11 a.m. Any variation from the regular time or location will be announced in advance on our website, in the newsletter and in the church bulletin.
A $7 lunch is served at noon to those who have made a reservation. To eat lunch with the group, please RSVP via email or call 713-528-0527 within two weekdays prior to the meeting. Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings, regardless of church membership.
Ministry
Containers are available at the monthly meetings for the group's ongoing ministry opportunity with the Ronald McDonald House. Please bring donations for the Salt and Light Ministry as you are able.
Day Trips. The group also goes on day trips every other month to a variety of fun and interesting places. To participate, please RSVP as indicated on the trip's description. (Some require longer lead time than others.)
Senior Men. The senior men gather at 9 a.m. on the third Thursday of each month for a Dutch treat breakfast and fellowship time at the IHOP on U.S. 59 access road, near Kirby. (2515 Southwest Freeway 77098) All senior men are welcome and no reservations are required.
