Jesus departed with his disciples to the lake, and a great multitude from Galilee followed him; hearing all that he was doing, they came to him in great numbers from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, beyond the Jordan, and the region around Tyre and Sidon. He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not crush him; for he had cured many, so that all who had diseases pressed upon him to touch him. (Mark 3:7-10)
In life we often are not sure who to follow. Jesus did not want people to follow him but to believe in him and his ways and to live life as he did on earth. Our spiritual practice helps us see who and what to follow each day. We desire to follow Jesus because we are attracted to his message. His way is a program of attraction; it is not necessary to preach or demand. The people wanted to follow him. When you follow him you are healed and the healing is very easy. All you are directed to do is touch his cloak and you are healed. The spiritual path is a narrow road; all we are asked is to follow and do. Following this path is not always the easiest routewe can run into hurdles along the way. All God asks of us is to follow his ways.
Dear God, Help me know how to follow you more and more each day.
