For Jews demand signs and Greeks desire wisdom, but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling-block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For God’s foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God’s weakness is stronger than human strength. (1 Corinthians 1:22-25)

The cross is not our stumbling block so much as impatience is. The Jews demanded signs and the Greeks desired wisdom, but our modern selves demand those same signs in neon and for our wisdom to arrive with Google search convenience. We are made in His image and He gave His only Son for us.  How much more need He do to show that He loves us? To truly take advantage of being called, we must slow down, listen, open our hearts, and find the faith to follow.

Dear Heavenly Father, grant us the patience to open ourselves to your gifts of love & grace.
