Fools say in their hearts, ‘There is no God.’
   They are corrupt, they commit abominable acts;
   there is no one who does good.
God looks down from heaven on humankind
   to see if there are any who are wise,
   who seek after God. (Psalm 53:1-2)

The psalmist reminds us that those who seek a deeper understanding of God in their daily lives are wise.  I believe that this process will allow you to live a richer life of love, compassion, and purpose in a troubled world.  On the other hand, those who believe in their hearts that there is no God will suffer the consequences of this lack of spiritual guidance--they'll miss out on the peace and joy available to those who seek after God.

Loving God, we thank you for being here for us, even in times when we are searching for greater understanding of your presence in our lives.  Please give us greater clarity and wisdom that will help us to be the people that you want us to be.

In Jesus' holy name we pray, Amen.
