“Now my soul is troubled.  And what should I say – ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it is for this reason that I have come to this hour. Father, glorify your name.”  John 12:20-21

A faithful life does not exempt us from bad situations, but rather, it prepares us for them.  The words of our Savior in this passage, reminds us of our spiritual calling to have hope in a Creator who works in and through us.  As children of God we were not meant to be saved from our hour of trouble, but to face these moments with the spiritual strength Christ has shown us.   For it is often at our hour of greatest challenge that God empowers us to be better and stronger than we

know we can be.

Holy God, guide me with your Spirit…so that I may glorify you in the way that I respond to the challenges in my life.  Help me stay true to the spiritual self that I always aim to be.  Amen.
