“Jesus said, ‘Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?’”
I was in the hospital recovering from lung surgery and diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease the cold, cloudy, and dreary Easter of 1975. I was discouraged and depressed when my minister showed up with the flower arrangement from the altar, complete with twenty-seven call lilies. I had a momentary thought that he had brought my funeral arrangement.
After encouraging prayer and communion to celebrate the resurrection of Christ, a single shaft of sunlight illuminated the flowers. I felt the peace that only Christ can give. Almost forty years later, that peace and glory of God still fill me.
I pray that all can feel the love and glory of God this Easter season.
