“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23:6
One of my favorite things about our rich Methodist heritage is the understanding of how the Christian life allows us to enter in to God's Kingdom here and now. We see the Kingdom break in with glorious regularity when we live lives framed by faith, prayer, and holy work. Even in the midst of sufferings, from which no one is exempt, we experience the Lord's kindness, comfort, and healing, as He redeems and makes all things new. Not only will we live in that most holy, beautiful, and peaceful of homes for all of eternity, but we also begin to enter that house here - and to invite others to walk in with us.
Lord, we thank you for life abundant and eternal that you offer us here and now. Amen.
