“God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

It’s easy to be nice to people who are nice to you.  It’s easy to say that you care for or love someone when they care for or love you back.  It’s easy to be at peace with others who are just like you.  It is much more difficult to be nice to those who are mean to you, to care for those who despise you and to make peace with those who seek to fight you at every turn. We, as humans, have never made it easy, but those are exactly the moments God chose to love us anyway.  And he didn’t just tell us He loved us, He proved that he loved us by sending His only child to live among us, to die a sinner’s death for us, and to show us the way to His love.  His all-encompassing, life-everlasting, chain-breaking, joyful-dancing kind of love.

Dear Lord, thank you for showing me beyond a shadow of a doubt how much you love me.  Thank you that in the times that I least deserve it, you are there, with open arms, wanting to love me ever more.  Jesus is all the proof that I will ever need.  Amen.
