St. Paul’s will host a 24 -week pilot project in Restorative Community for 10-14 of SEARCH Homeless Services clients on Tuesday evenings in Fondren Hall, starting April 3.
The program is to create a safe space to build community among congregations and participants by offering friendship and support through a shared meal. The cornerstone of the program, this weekly meal generates a sense of belonging that fosters caring relationships and promotes healing.
All of SEARCH’s congregations are asked to provide one of these meals, volunteers to be welcome hosts who dine with the participants to help create community, and mentors offering friendship and encouragement throughout the program. Training and guidance for volunteers and mentors will be provided at St. Paul's on March 24.
