All are invited to visit the Bell Tower to learn more about change ringing bells, St. Paul's ringing band, and how you can become part of this band of ringers.
With only 50 change ringing towers in the nation, Houston is privileged to have three such towers — at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, St. Thomas Episcopal Church, and Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church.
Practices are held on Monday nights, 6:30-8:30 pm, alternating weekly between the bell tower at St. Paul’s and the tower at St. Thomas’ Episcopal in Meyerland. If we have at least 5 ringers on a Sunday, we will ring after the 11:05 am service. We also occasionally ring for weddings or funerals.
For those who are new to ringing and would like to become ringers, practice sessions are normally one-on-one until the new ringer becomes proficient with handling the bell and rope. The beginner then slowly becomes involved in the group dynamic of change ringing.
