St. Paul’s Youth Strings will perform twice this Sunday, December 17 — at 9:45 am in the Jones Building Lobby and at 4:30 pm in the Sanctuary when they play the prelude for the Children’s Christmas Candlelight service.
This ensemble of string musicians comprised of St. Paul’s children and youth, ages 7-17, is led again this year by Antoine Plante, a St. Paul’s member and artistic director and founder of Mercury Orchestra. Among the music the ensemble of one harp, three cellos, and seven violins (See names below.) will play are some of Plante’s own compositions.
"Last year was wonderful," sand Anna Teagarden, Director of Children's Music, "and this year is even better. These kids are having the opportunity to work with a real deal conductor and director. They sound incredible and are having such a wonderful experience playing some of Maestro Plant's own composition."
