Caravaggio (1571-1610) revolutionized the painting of holy persons, and St. Paul's member and Bible scholar Norman Mahan will present some of his research on this work to two groups in January -- the Primetimers and the Special Studies class. All who are interested are invited to attend either group, or both.
- The Primetimers presentation will be on Thursday, January 14. The group gathers at 10:30, and the program begins at 11. An $8 lunch is served at noon. To attend, please RSVP by January 12 to 713-528-0527 or email@example.com.
- The Special Studies presentation will be a three-part series, beginning January 17. This class meets on Sundays at 9:45 a.m. in S-311.
Caravaggio’s paintings, which had a formative influence on Baroque painting, combine a realistic observation of the human state with a dramatic use of lighting.
