Ibraim Santos is a fine artist from Brazil who specializes in mixed media art including painting and sculpture and installation. Ibraim has been an artist since he was five years old when he created his own toys from household items. He began to share his love of art at a young age by volunteering at his local church as a teacher in the art program for impoverished children where he worked with 10-17 year olds creating art out of recycled materials. Ibraim pursued his interests in art when he enrolled in the Fine Arts program at the Federal University of Bahia. As a student, he had the opportunity to work on the sets of theater and movie productions in Bahia, igniting a new love for set design and prop construction. Ibraim moved to the United States in 2007 and has worked building festival floats for parades in San Francisco, such as the Gay Pride Parade. More recently he was the leader of the art team at Trader Joe’s. Ibraim is passionate about working with his students and teaching art as an experience and creative process of discovery.
