St. Paul’s has a wonderful tradition of having laity (non-clergy) participate in weekly worship in a variety of roles, including acolytes, choir members, ushers, greeters, Communion stewards, and lay readers.
With prayerful consideration, lay readers have made a commitment to use their speaking skills to the glory of God and for the benefit of the congregation by reading scripture in our worship services.
To learn more about how to be a lay reader at St. Paul’s, you are invited to a lay reader training session on Sunday, June 28, at 12:15 p.m. in the Fellers Room (S-312). At this training session led by Dr. Bill Kerley and Rev. Eleanor Colvin, you will learn about both the joys and responsibilities of this special ministry. Current lay readers are welcome to attend for "refresher" training.
If you have any questions, or you would like to attend this lay reader training, please contact Dawn Uebelhart via 713-528-0527 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
