St. Paul’s will be open for prayer from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Ash Wednesday, February 18. Ministers will be available to impose ashes in the Sanctuary, on the outdoor Labyrinth, and throughout the neighborhood. People also are encouraged to walk the Labyrinth after receiving ashes.
The regular mid-week Service of Holy Communion on Ash Wednesday will be in the Sanctuary at 12:15 p.m. rather than in the Chapel. Senior minister Rev. Tommy Williams will be the homilist for that service as well as at 7 p.m., also in the Sanctuary. His sermon title is “The Cross Shaped Life.” Both services will include the imposition of ashes.
A bi-lingual Spanish/English Ash Wednesday service will be conducted by Rev. Nataly Negrete on the outdoor Labyrinth at 6 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the service will be conducted on the Labyrinth set up in Fondren Hall.
