Dr. Jerry DeSobe, ordained United Methodist minister and baseball fan, will lead a three-part Sunday morning series this summer -- "Baseball as a Spiritual Journey." The study will meet at 9:45 a.m. in J-220 on the Sundays of June 1, 8, and 15. The study concludes with a trip to Minute Maid Park to see the Tampa Bay Devil Rays vs. the Houston Astros in a 1:10 p.m. game. To reserve your group-rate ticket, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or use this form. Anyone may attend the game, even if not attending the study series.
"Baseball can be thought of as more than simply a sport. Like life, it is filled with curses and blessings, scapegoats, and sacred places, hope, faith, and doubt. This class will focus on how baseball history mirrors our lives and what we can learn about ourselves as we experience the ups and downs of being a fan of the 'national pastime.'" -- Rev. Dr. Jerry DeSobe
